Police Hunt Man Who Abandoned Two Tons of Cannabis Sativa in Balaka

Police in Balaka district are searching for a man who was cultivating cannabis sativa, commonly known as Indian hemp.

The man, identified as Twaliki Mchawa, was growing the illegal substance in Khoswe village in the area of Traditional Authority Nsamala.

According to Mphatso Munthali, the Balaka police publicist, Mchawa fled the area and left behind two tons of cannabis sativa after receiving a tip from some villagers that the police were coming to arrest him
