Ground labourer nabbed for theft in Mulanje

Police at Nkando in Mulanje District have arrested Lovemore Muhapataya, 40, for allegedly stealing three office cabins and seven window frames at Thuchila Old Health Centre in Mulanje.

It is reported that on April 24, 2023 as a routine the reporter (clinician at Thuchila Health Centre) went with fellow workers to check some properties left at the said health facility where it was discovered that the above mentioned properties were missing.

Upon being quizzed, the suspect admitted to have stolen the properties. The matter was later reported to Nkando Police Unit who arrested and charged the suspect with theft by servant.

Meanwhile, he will be taken to court soon after investigations are completed.

Lovemore Muhapataya hails from Semu Village, Traditional Authority Khwetemule in Thyolo District.
