Police in Chikwawa have arrested a 39 year-old for allegedly having sexual intercourse with his 12 years old biological daughter.
Public Relations Officer for Chikwawa Police Station Sergeant Dickson Matemba has identified the suspect as Chisomo Thomas.
The father , who had been on separation with his wife, had been staying with the daughter and used to show her pornographic movies from his phone and later on defiling her in the process.
The girl who is a standard four learner revealed the conduct of his father to some people who reported the matter to Police, leading to his arrest.
Upon arrival at Chikwawa Police Station the victim was issued a medical form for examination and results from Chikwawa District Hospital revealed that the girl had been defiled for several times.
The suspect has been charged with Sexual intercourse with a child which is contrary to section 138(1) of the Penal code and will be taken to court very soon to answer the charge.
Meanwhile Police have warned that the law shall never leave any perpetrators who exploit or abuse girl child rights in the district.
Chisomo Thomas hails from Mbenderana Village Traditional Authority Kasisi in Chikwawa District.
