Govt introduces transport allowance to Civil Servants

President Dr Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera has given all civil servants from grade E to R transport allowance of K20,000 per month as promised in the Budget presentation during the just ended House Sitting by the Minister of Finance Sosten Gwengwe.

In Secular addressed to all government agencies by the Secretary to Human Resource Management and Development, Mr BG Chilabade, says the allowance is with effect from 1st April, 2023.

The Secular also says all civil servants who are in grade D and above are not entitled to this new scheme because they are already given fuel allowance.
