CDEDI plan to hold vigil at AG’s office

The Centre for Democracy and Economic Development Initiatives (CDEDI) has announced that it will start holding vigil at Attorney General’s (AG) office from this coming Friday.

This comes following the following the expiry of the seven-day ultimatum CDEDI asked Attorney General Thabo Chaka Nyirenda to show Malawians proof that he recovered the MK750 million meant for the Affordable Inputs Program (AIP)

Executive Director for CDEDI Sylvester Namiwa has said that they will not backtrack with their decision to start holding vigil at the entrance of AG’s office at capitol hill in Lilongwe.

According to Namiwa they will not leave the place until Nyirenda provides valid information on the whereabouts of the moneys or else he must resign.

He added by saying that time has come for Malawians to be holding accountable officers so that the taxpayers money is safeguarded at all times.
