Ten Students from Balaka Islamic Boys Secondary School Arrested for Alleged Rape and Robbery

In a shocking incident, ten students from Balaka Islamic Boys Secondary School in Balaka have been arrested by the police for allegedly raping and robbing a 27-year-old woman in the district. The incident occurred when the victim was walking past the vicinity of the school.

According to Mphatso Munthali, the deputy spokesperson for Balaka Police, the boys overpowered the woman and subjected her to sexual assault. They also forcibly took her money, amounting to MK7,500. The traumatized victim promptly reported the incident to Balaka Police Station.

Upon receiving the report, the police conducted an identification process, during which the victim positively identified the ten students involved in the heinous crime.

Consequently, the police arrested the suspects, and they are now awaiting their court appearance. They will face charges of rape and robbery.
