Police at Muloza in Mulanje have arrested Henderson Alfred Gama 52 for unlawful possession of deceased estate.
This happened on May 28 2023 at Namaona village in Traditional Authority Njema in Mulanje.
It is reported that the elder brother to the suspect ( Steven Chayekha) married Joyce Yusufu 55, of the same particulars.
Later the deceased fell sick and was taken to Mulanje where death was pronounced. After burial ceremony the accused harshly seized the house and a tea farm belonging to the reporter claiming that it is his late brother’s property.
Therefore, the reporter (wife to the deceased) consulted High court in Blantyre where order was made to share the property. They were all given judgement copies.
Due to that, Gama was against the idea. He later grabbed the house at Namani Village and the tea field .
Then, the matter was reported to Police leading to the arrest of the suspect.
Meanwhile, the suspect will appear in court soon to answer charges leveled against him.
Police in the district is advising the general public to refrain from taking the law into their own hands .
