Blantyre Synod Radio Journalist Jean Yona Nkata Dies

Death has been announced of Jean Yona Nkata who was working as a presenter at Blantyre Synod Radio (BSR).

Nkata died on Sunday, July 2, 2023 at St Gabriel Hospital in Lilongwe.

She joined BSR in March this year from Centre for Solution Journalism. She also worked for Galaxy FM, Channel for All Nations and as an intern at Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC). She joined the industry in 2010.

Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA) Malawi-chapter has since expressed shock over the untimely death of Nkata.

The body of Nkata will be laid to rest on Tuesday at Area 18 cemetery in Lilongwe.
