The National Council for Higher Education-NCHE has attributed the delay in releasing the public university selection to difficulties faced by candidates and the unforeseen effects of cyclone Freddy.
The sentiments come as NCHE was expected to release the selection by end June 2023, however the council is yet to do so.
However, Public Relations Officer for NCHE Priscilla Zikapanda has said that among many other factors, this year’s Public Universities Selection applications were done entirely online, compared to previous years when applicants had the option of applying either online or using a paper-based application form.
“Recognizing the difficulties faced by some candidates, National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) in collaboration with the Six Public Universities, extended the application deadline by approximately two weeks, from June 16th to June 26th 2023,” she said
Meanwhile Zikapanda said as soon as all the processes are concluded the council will release the result.
