Court reserves ruling in Chilima’s application to vary bail conditions

The High Court hearing the case on alleged corruption involving vice president Saulos Chilima has reserved it’s ruling on an application to vary bail conditions.

Presiding judge Redson Kapindu said after hearing arguments from the state and defense on the application that he will give his ruling on Tuesday 1 August 2023 at 10 o’clock.

On the accused Chilima will also take plea and the court is expected also to give directions.

Chilima is being accused of corruption related crimes for allegedly receiving bribes from a UK based businessperson Zuneth Sattar to influence awarding of public contracts.
