Body of Missing Machine Operator Recovered from Lake Malawi at Likoma Jetty

A 43 year old man has been found dead, floating in Lake Malawi at the Likoma Jetty Construction site.

Likoma Police Publicist Enala Kaluwa has identified the man as Fredrick Juma Kathumba who was a Mota Engil’s Machine operator at the site.

According to the police publicist, Kathumba went missing on Friday 21 July 2023 at around 2200hrs.

Meanwhile, postmortem results conducted at St Peter’s Mission Hospital shows that the deceased has died of suffocation.
