Police at Kanengo, Lilongwe have arrested Geoffrey Maluwa 46, for allegedly defiling his daughters and impregnating one in the process.
Kanengo Police Deputy Public Relations Officer, Seargent Grace Kayisi says on July 17, 2023 Maluwa’s wife went to the market to ply her usual tomato business leaving her daughters in the house with the father. Maluwa took advantage of the situation and went to his daughters’ room where he defiled his 13-year-old biological daughter.
Kayisi added that the victim narrated everything to her mother on return. The mother then reported the matter to Kanengo Police Station and officers referred the girl to the hospital where medical personnel confirmed her to have been defiled.
She further said following this, the other 15-year-old step-daughter, also revealed that it was her father who defiled and impregnated her in 2018.
Meanwhile, the suspect has told the police during interview, that a traditional doctor from Mozambique told him that he could get rich if he did this.
According to Kayisi, Maluwa hails from Chikanda Village, Traditional Authority Mkukula in Dowa and is expected to appear in court soon.
