Goodall’s burial today, Chilima to brash shoulders with Mutharika

The body of former Minister of Finance and Economic Development Goodall Gondwe will be laid to rest today at his home village, Kayionanga, Traditional Authority Mtwalo in Mzimba.

State Vice President Dr. Saulos Claus Chilima is scheduled to grace the funeral ceremony on behalf of President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera.

Another notable face at the funeral will be former President Peter Mutharika who is also leader of the opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP).

This will be the first time for Chilima and Mutharika to meet since the fresh presidential polls in 2020.

Meanwhile, the CCAP Synod of Livingstonia has cautioned politicians to mourn and celebrate the departed country’s icon Goodall Gondwe and refrain from using the funeral to castigate each other and promote hate speech.
