Lilongwe Police Station has arrested four men after they jumped into a moving vehicle and attempted to steal assorted items.
Inspector Hestings Chigalu,Lilongwe Police spokesperson has confirmed to us saying the suspects are Misi Patrick aged 22; Chimwemwe Tembo, 20; George Stambuli, 22; and Yusufu Saidi, 23.
The incident occurred on Friday August 25 2023 at about 1 p.m. at the minibus stage behind Area 4 Shoprite.
Chigalu says the time, a certain lady was driving her pick-up which was loaded with groceries when the four suspects, who had tinted hair, immediately jumped into the vehicle.
They began taking the items when the owner stopped the vehicle, forcing the suspects to flee.
The complainant reported the matter to Lilongwe police detectives. The detectives swiftly moved into action and arrested the four suspects.
Meanwhile, the four have been charged with attempted theft.
The suspects will soon appear before in a court of law answers charges applied for them.
