20 Malawians killed in a fire that razed down a building in South Africa

Information reaching faceofmnalawi indicates that 20 Malawians have died in the fire that erupted on Thursday morning in a building in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Malawi High Commissioner to South Africa, Stella Ndau has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.

Ndau is yet to confirm the identity of those who have died in the fire. She said they are still gathering more information.

South Africa media reports that so far, 74 people have been confirmed dead including 12 children after a blaze in a five-storey building owned by the City of Johannesburg.

Reports further say that identification of the dead is proving difficult because some have been burnt beyond recognition.
