A 39-year-old hospital technician at Mulanje District Hospital, Reagan Dulani, has died at his house following an overdose of drugs which he took on an empty stomach.
Mulanje Police Public Relations Officer Innocent Moses said this happened at Kumwamba village in the area of Traditional Authority Mabuka in the district.
Moses said Durlani was a well-known drug addict who used to inject himself with intoxicating drugs.
“On September 09, 2023 he never took both lunch and supper that was prepared by his sister whom stays with in that house,” Moses said.
He said this prompted her to force open her brother’s bedroom door only to find him dead with syringes and bottles of the drug on his side.
Mulanje Police detectives rushed to the scene and carried the body to Mulanje District Hospital where death was established as due to taking the drug on an empty stomach, resulting in an overdose.
Dulani hailed from Kangamkundi village in the area of Traditional Authority Nsamala in Balaka District.
