Three people arrested for being found with AK 47 riffle in Mulanje

Police in Mulanje have arrested three people for being found in possession of an AK 47 riffle with six rounds of live ammunition without a permit.

Mulanje Police Station Public Relations Officer Innocent Moses said the three were arrested on September 21, 2023 at Lauderdale Trading Centre, where they were attempting to sell the riffle.

He said the three are Yamikani Sajomba, 22, Chikondi Gombwa, 31 and Mervin Banda, 41.

Mosses added that their Investigation found out that the riffle and ammunition were stolen in Mozambique.

The three will answer the case of being found in possession of a firearm without permit, according to police.
