President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera this morning led Malawians in paying last respect to the late John Tembo, former Malawi Congress Party (MCP) President.
The ceremony took place at MCP headquarters in the capital Lilongwe.
Chakwera was followed by the country’s Vice President Dr. Saulos Chilima who is also President of the United Transformation Movement (UTM).
Former President Dr Joyce Banda, former Vice President Khumbo Kachali, Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Colleen Zamba, government and party officials all had a chance to pay their last homage to late JZU Tembo.
Tembo died last week at a Private Clinic in the capital Lilongwe at the age of 91.
He will be laid to rest this coming Wednesday in Dedza District.
