JZU Tembo’s burial to be conducted privately

Information reaching this publication indicates that former Malawi Congress Party (MCP) President John Zenus Ungapake Tembo will be laid to rest at a private funeral to be held on Wednesday in Dedza District.

Chairperson of the funeral committee Albert Mbawala has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.

“On Wednesday we will take the body of JZU from Nthulu village to Dedza stadium where we will give chance to people to pay their last respect and then afterwards there will be a private burial ceremony because of the numbers.

“We can’t have all the numbers come there, we will have at least all the VVIP’s , National Executive Committees members of the party and those people who matter the relations the family people for a private committal service at Nthulu village in Dedza,” said Mbawala.

Tembo died last week at a Private Clinic in the capital Lilongwe at the age of 91.
