The music icon, Joe Gwaladi, is in police custody for allegedly assaulting and injuring his wife at Mulomba Trading Centre in Phalombe District.
Phalombe District Police spokesperson, Jimmy Kapanja, has confirmed the incident in an interview with the press.
According to Kapanje, the law enforcers are currently investigating the matter.
Recently, the news were all over the social media that Gwaladi has taken his own life but after this publication followed up the issue it was discovered that it was a hoax.
