Zomba Mayor’s Trophy competition launched

The Zomba Mayor’s Trophy worth K10 million has been established and there will be sports like netball and football for youth who are in primary schools.

The ceremony to launch the trophy which is for primary schools only started with a big walk that started from Mponda primary school to Police Mess Stadium where the whole ceremony was held.

Deputy Mayor of Zomba who for the Mayor, Munira Chitseko thanked FDH Bank for supporting the competition with 10 million kwacha which she said will help develop the skill of youth in various schools in the district.

In his speech, the chairman of sports committee at Zomba City Council, Gracious Madziopita Kabwalo said that it is his desire as a council to dig up skills of young people starting from the ground which is in primary schools in order to improve their skills.

17 primary schools in the district will participate in the competition.
