Chitipa Court Hands 3-Year Sentence to Three for Robbery and Assault

First Grade Magistrate court in Chitipa has convicted and sentenced Sam Kalinga, 18, Chikondi Silwimba, 19 and Often Siyame, 18 to 3 years imprisonment with hard labour for being found guilty of robbery and assault.
State prosecutor Robert Chawinga told the court that the incident happened on 5th September, 2023 at Chitipa boma as the three assaulted and robbed Davie Kabaghe a cellphone and a bicycle worth K287,000.
Passing the sentence, First Grade Magistrate Billy Ngosi sentenced the three to 3 years whereby the two sentences will run concurrently.
