Multichoice Africa says no AFCON games on SuperSport

Multichoice Africa Limited has announced that SuperSport Channels will not be able to beam live the 2023 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) scheduled to commence on January 13, 2024.

This has been confirmed in a statement released on Wednesday made available to this publication.

According to the statement, this is as a result of the channel’s failure to secure the rights to broadcast all the 52 matches.

“SuperSport Channel will not broadcast the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2023 scheduled for January 13 to February 11 2024, because the channel has not the rights to broadcast the tournament,” reads part of the statement.
