Girl Fatally Attacked by German Shepherd Dogs in Mponela, Owner Arrested

Mponela Police Spokesperson MacPatson Msadala has confirmed that a 7-year-old girl identified as Miracle Evance has died after being attacked by German Shepherd dogs.

Msadala says the incident occurred Wednesday at Chikuluti area traditional authority Mponela in the district.

It is said that the owner of the dog, Blessings Kakwela, was coming from work, and upon his arrival at his home, his brother opened the gate for him to enter.

He says it was at this time that his two German shepherd dogs found a chance to sneak outside and allegedly attacked the victim.

He says postmortem conducted by medics at Mponela Rural Hospital has revealed that the cause of death was a loss of blood (haemorrhage).

Police have since arrested the owner of the dogs.
