Escom Transformer Vandalism Hits Phalombe

Vandals targeted an Electricity Supply Corporation of Malawi Limited (Escom) transformer at Mankhanamba village in Phalombe district, stealing essential parts and causing a blackout in the area.
The incident not only affected the residents of Mankhanamba but also those from surrounding places.
This act of vandalism has become a recurring issue, as last year, Escom reported the loss of over 100 power transformers due to similar incidents.
