A-40 year old man in Dowa has found lifeless after hanging himself to the roof of his house on 26 February 2024 in the village of Chimphapa ,Traditional Authority Chakhaza in the district.
Spokesperson for Mponela police station Macpatson Msadala, has confirmed the development and identified the deceased as Kelvin Songazaudzu.
According to Msadala, Songazaudzu was staying with his wife at Chapimpha Village since December last year and they had family problems where the husband used to accuse the wife for having separate love affairs. Most of the time the husband used to tell his wife that one day he will commit suicide.
On evening of 25 February 2024, they quarreled again over the same issues and this prompted the wife to go and report matter to her uncle and when she came back she was surprised to find the husband hanging in the roof of their house, dead.
Police and medical personnel rushed to the scene 26th February 2024 and took the body to Chakhaza Health Center where he pronounced as due to suffocation secondary to hanging.
Beside his body there was drug called Cuba which is believed to have been used by the deceased.
Meanwhile, Mponela Police is still advising all people around its policing area to seek advice from Victim Support Unit in order to avoid such incidents.
Kelvin Songazaudzu hailed from Lukwa Village in the area of Traditional Authority Lukwa in Kasungu District.
