JOYCE BANDA TO CONTEST AS PRESIDENT IN 2025 POLLS

Former President and leader of People’s Party (PP) Dr Joyce has announced that, she will contest as President in the 2025 polls.

In her speech on Sunday at Area 23 Police Ground in Lilongwe, she emphasized that People’s Party is a grass root party hence all who want to join are free to join.

She expressed concern over hunger that the country is experiencing this year.

“It is very important that all stakeholders should work together to deal with the scarcity of food in the country”, she said.

Banda advised the citizens that they have crucial role to take, to ensure that food is available in respective homes.

“It is estimated that over 4.5 million people in the country will face hunger and many people are sleeping without taking food, which is embarrassing, as a country we need to do better” she said.

The former president also explained that, the citizens must work harder to ensure that they feed their households.

She referred to Kamuzu Era where people were not given handouts but to work hard on their own.

“During Kamuzu Era people were not given handouts and free food but today it has become a habit, let us work hard to solve this issue of hunger”, she said.

Peoples Party is one of the key players in Tonse Alliance Government.
