Opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Member of Parliament for Blantyre City South East Sameer Suleman has survived an impeachment in the August house.
The government side plotted to have Suleman removed as Chairperson for Agriculture Committee of Parliament over his violent conduct in the August House.
Dedza Central East MP Joshua Malango was the one who brought the motion to remove Suleman as chairperson for the committee, citing indiscipline.
But leader of the House Richard Chimwendo Banda this morning announced that the government side has withdrawn the motion.
According to Chimwendo Banda, the government side had a talk with the opposition and they settled on withdrawing the motion.
In a related development, the opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has reversed its decision to remove Werani Chilenga from the Natural Resources Committee of Parliament.
