Two people have died following heavy rains that hit Chikwawa district yesterday on 11 April 2024.
Confirming the devastation, Charity Machika, Disaster Risk Management Officer for Chikwawa said the flooding situation affected Malemia Village in the area of Senior Chief Ngabu in the district.
So far, she says the effect has also been on the road infrastructure with cracks noticed at Nyakamba Bridge along the M1 road.
She says they are meanwhile supporting the affected with food and nonfood items.
