Homeland Security Minister Ken Zikhale Ng’oma says he will not resign

Minister of Homeland Security Ken Zikhale Ng’oma has said he will not resign over issues surrounding hitches surrounding the resumption of passport issuance at the Immigration Department.

The Immigration Department suspended passport printing two months ago after unknown people hacked the system used to print passport.

Last month, Ng’oma and some official from the Immigration told Malawians that the state owned institution has resumed printing of the passport.

But since then no Malawian has been issued with the new passport.

This afternoon Ken Zikhale Ng’oma stormed Immigration Department to see for himself the challenges that Malawians are facing in the course of pushing for their passport.

Speaking to press after the meeting with Immigration officials Zikhale Ng’oma said he will not resign from his post.

Ng’oma said the Tonse Alliance government is currently working on solutions to end the challenges hindering the passport printing in the country.
