Yajefa General Dealers Demands K22 Million From Prophet Favour For Failing To Pay Debt

Lilongwe based Yajefa General Dealers is demanding K22 million from Prophet Favour Ngulube of Divine Glory Ministries at Biwi in the capital city.

According to court records, in August 2023, the High Court ordered the Sheriff of Malawi to sell and seize Ngulube’s property to recover K27 million for Yajefa General Dealers.

Lawyer for Yajefa General Dealers Marshall Chilenga of T. F & Partners says the sheriff seized some goods that were sold but inadequate to settle the debt.

“We are enforcing the judgment with difficulties. We are looking into other modes of recovery,” Chilenga said.

Ngulube’s lawyer, Chipiliro Mwale of Messrs Lameck and Company says the debt was settled by consent; meaning the judgment was entered by agreement.

Mwale’s Communication to T.F & Partners, dated May 25, 2023 admits that Ngulube collected various building materials from Yajefa General Dealers to the tune of K25 million and committed to settle the debt with first installment of K10 million by December 31,2023; second installment of K7.5 million by February 28,2023 and K7.5 million by June 30,2023.

The figure rose to K27,454,000.00 because of interest.

In his sworn statement dated September 15,2022, Prophet Ngulube said he was unable to pay the entire money at once.

“As of now, my ministry from which I collect offerings is going through a lot of financial problems because some of my members have not been attending services and I also have other financial obligations like paying salaries for my staff, buying food, maintaining the upkeep of myself and my family among other obligations,” Ngulube said.
