he Malawi Congress Party (MCP) has expressed disappointment with the decision of other parties to withdraw from the Tonse Alliance, without providing an opportunity for discussion and negotiation about the future of the alliance.

MCP spokesperson Jessy Kabwila made these comments in response to the recent announcements by other parties that they are leaving the Tonse Alliance.

Kabwila stated that if a party respects the decision of others to leave the alliance, the MCP is ready to welcome those who wish to return to the alliance in the future.

Recently, both the People’s Party (PP) and UTM have announced their departure from the Tonse Alliance.
