Man Arrested In Blantyre For Slaughtering Dog to Sell as Meat at Chirimba Market

Police at Kabula in Blantyre, have arrested 48-year-old man after being caught slaughtering a dog with the intent to sell it as meat, known as “kanyenya,” at Chirimba Market in the city.

Kabula Police Station Officer-in-Charge Moffat Chimenya confirmed the arrest, and identified the man as Anderson Chimoda.

According to Chimenya, the investigations on the matter are still ongoing to uncover more details surrounding the incident.
The suspect is currently in police custody as authorities continue their inquiries.

Chimenya has therefore urged the people to refrain from illegal activities and warned of strict consequences for those caught engaging in such offenses.
