Honorable Patricia Kaliati’s case failed to enter court today, despite her arrival for the scheduled 9:00 AM hearing.
The court was expected to provide directions on how the case would proceed, but the proceedings were delayed.
Kaliati’s representative, Khwima Mchizi, confirmed that he was informed the case would not be heard and called for clarification from the government.
Mchizi expressed readiness for the trial to proceed quickly, but noted that the government had yet to submit key evidence to the defense.
The government has not commented on the delay or the missing documents.
Kaliati is accused of being involved in a plot to kill the president Lazarus Chakwera.
