The August House has given Leader of Opposition Dr. George Chaponda 48 hours to bring evidence on his claim that ruling party members, with help from the National Registration Bureau, were printing National ID cards at the National Food Reserve Agency in Kanengo.

Chitipa South MP, Wellani Chilenga moved a motion on the matter this morning when deliberations resumed.

Chilenga has demanded that the remarks be withdrawn if no proof is presented.

The issue has caused disagreements among opposition MPs, leading to a division in the house.

After the vote, 43 Members of Parliament voted in favor, while 37 voted against.
