Silver Strikers FC has confirmed the resignation of head coach Peter Mponda, just days after he signed a two-year contract extension with the club. The news was announced through an official statement released by the team.

Mponda, who joined the club 11 months ago, leaves a significant mark by guiding Silver Strikers to their first TNM Super League title in years, ending a long trophy drought for the club. His departure comes amidst growing speculation that he is being sought after by his former team, Nyasa Big Bullets.

Reports suggest that Big Bullets may be considering Mponda as a replacement for their outgoing coach, Calisto Pasuwa. Fresh developments reveal that Pasuwa, who has been at the helm since 2018, is set to part ways with the team when his contract expires on January 1, 2025. The Zimbabwean tactician has been on leave in his home country, and it has been confirmed that the club does not plan to renew his contract.

During his tenure, Pasuwa achieved remarkable success, leading Nyasa Big Bullets to five TNM Super League titles, three Airtel Top 8 trophies, two FDH Bank Cups, and five Charity Shields, among other accolades.

As Silver Strikers begins the search for a new head coach, all eyes are on Mponda to see whether he will make a return to Big Bullets or take on another challenge in his coaching career.
