Aspiring member of Parliament for South Lunzu Constituency, Alex Chimwala, has called on the people of Kameza to vote for him in the forthcoming elections, pledging to bring about the much needed change in the area.
Chimwala, who is also a prominent businessman, made the remarks yesterday on 18 January 2025 during the political rally held at St. Theresa Catholic Church Grounds in Kameza, Blantyre.
Speaking to Face Of Malawi, The shadow MP, has assured the residents of Kameza and South Lunzu as whole, that his leadership would address their long-standing challenges.
“I am ready to serve my constituency and address the problems they are currently facing. Our roads are in poor condition, and I am committed to construct modern roads and bridges that will connect Kameza and Manchinjiri Area 1,” said Chimwala.
In an effort to empower young people, Chimwala promised to talk with Village Heads to secure a space for the youth in Kameza to engage in sports activities.
In addition to infrastructure, Chimwala has also promised to improve access to clean water in Kameza by constructing boreholes a project that will be starting very soon. He mentioned that he has already started sanitation projects in the area, including the construction of toilets in various graveyards to improve hygiene.
“No visitor will come to clean your house. It is your responsibility to clean your home which means you should vote for a son of the soil in South Lunzu, born and bred, who is Shadow MP Alex Chimwala,” he remarked.
Chimwala also took an advantage to encourage the masses to register to vote, emphasizing the importance of active participation in politics and electoral process. He reassured the crowd that if they choose him on 16 September 2025, he would work collaboratively with stakeholders and various political parties to foster development in South Lunzu, as he does not do petty politics but development.
The rally was marked by high attendance with warm welcome from residents showing overwhelming support and interest in Chimwala’s plans for the constituency.
