Police in Zomba town have arrested four people on suspicion of murdering Yohane Chimwala, 85, of the Chikowi chiefdom in the district.
The police spokesperson in the town, Patricia Sipiliano, said that on the night of January 20, the four men, who were armed with machetes, broke into the house of the man, who lived alone, and beat him on the head.
The thieves then stole ten kilograms of flour and a Bluetooth speaker.
After conducting an investigation, the police arrested the four men who were also found with the stolen Bluetooth.
The four will appear before court soon.
