Police in Mwanza have arrested Islam Akim, 21, on suspicion of stealing over K12 million from his employer, Agora Limited.
Mwanza Police spokesperson Hope Kasakula confirmed the arrest, saying Akim worked as a store supervisor at Agora’s Mwanza branch.
The incident happened last week when Akim allegedly disappeared without informing his colleagues. Security guards reported his absence to the police, prompting investigations.
According to Kasakula, the suspect stole over K12 million but left behind K3 million in the store. He was later arrested in Twaibu Village, Chiradzulu, with K8 million in cash and K250,000 mobile money.
