24-Year-Old Woman Caught With 4kg of Cannabis at Songwe Border

Police in Karonga have arrested a 24-year old woman for allegedly being found in possession of Cannabis Sativa weighing four kilograms at Songwe border in the district.

District Police Publicist, constable Margret Msiska said the arrest of Tamala Dziko, follows a tip-off that law enforcers at the border post received that a certain woman concealed the illicit drug in a travelling bag.

Msiska added that the police officers from Songwe police unit conducted a search in a bus which she boarded from Lilongwe leading to the arrest and seizure of the bag.

Dziko 24, will appear in court soon to answer charges of being found in possession of Cannabis Sativa contrary to regulation 4 section 19 (1) of the Dangerous drug Act.
