Phalombe Road Accident Claims Four Lives, Injures 16

Four people lost their lives yesterday in a tragic road accident at Chiringa in Phalombe after the vehicle they were traveling in experienced brake failure and swerved off the road.

Phalombe Police Station Officer, Marco Mvukuta, confirmed the incident, stating that two people sustained serious injuries, while 14 others suffered minor injuries.

According to Mvukuta, the vehicle was carrying 20 female passengers who were on their way to Monjo in the district to attend a funeral ceremony.

Two passengers died on the spot, while another passed away while receiving treatment at the hospital. The fourth victim succumbed later, while one person remains admitted in stable condition. The remaining 15 were treated as outpatients.

Authorities are continuing investigations into the incident.
