Vendors in Zomba to Protest Against Rising Prices Today

Vendors in Zomba City have organized protests against the rising prices of various goods, set to take place today, Tuesday.
According to the chairman of the vendors, Ayatu Chidothi, the demonstrations will include participants from Mpondabwino Market, the main market, Chinamwali, Matawale, Mpunga, 3 Miles, and other affected areas.
The protest is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m., starting from the city stadium. The march will proceed via the Water Authority road, Mponda School, St. Charles Lwanga, and Zero Point before concluding with the delivery of a petition to the District Commissioner.
Mr. Chidothi emphasized that the demonstration is meant to be peaceful and warned against any misconduct, including theft, insults, or disorderly behavior. He assured that any individuals attempting to engage in such activities would be reported to security forces.
Similar protests have already taken place in Lilongwe and Blantyre, while Mzuzu has postponed its demonstration until further notice.
