Mponela Police Seek Public Help in Identifying Deceased Man Found at Nambuma TC

An unidentified man has died after being found unconscious at Nambuma Trading Centre in Dowa.

According to Public Relations Officer for Mponela Police Station, Sergeant Macpatson Msadala, the man, believed to be between 55 and 60 years old, was discovered opposite Nambuma Farmers World Shop on March 13, 2025, around 08:30 AM.

Well-wishers who found him in an unconscious state alerted Nambuma Police Unit, who rushed to the scene and took him to Nambuma Health Centre. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

A postmortem conducted by clinicians at Nambuma Health Centre revealed that the cause of death was hypoglycemia secondary to hypothermia.

The deceased is described as short, slim, with short black hair. At the time he was found, he was wearing a black sports trouser and a black scumber.

Mponela Police are now appealing to the public to assist in identifying the deceased. Anyone with a missing relative matching the description is urged to report to Mponela Police Station or Dowa District Hospital, where the body is currently being kept.
