Nyasa Big Bullets have officially signed 24-year-old left-back Henry Chiwaya on a free transfer following his departure from Nyambadwe United, a Southern Region Premier League side.

Chiwaya, who previously played for TNM Super League clubs Wizards FC, Mighty Tigers, and Karonga United, impressed during a month-long trial with the reigning champions. He featured in all three of Bullets’ pre-season matches, helping the team secure the 2025 Sapitwa 4 Championship.

Expressing his excitement, Chiwaya said joining Bullets is a dream come true.

“Joining the country’s biggest team means the world to me. I’m grateful to God for this opportunity, and I want to thank the head coach, the technical team, and the Board for trusting me and offering me this contract. I will give my all to meet the club’s high expectations.”

Head coach Peter Mponda explained that Chiwaya’s arrival was necessary to strengthen the left side of defense following Chrispin Mapemba’s injury.

“We had a gap on the left side, and with the season starting this weekend, we needed reinforcements. Chiwaya is a solid wingback, and with Dominic Musonda also signing last week, I’m confident we are well covered,” said Mponda.

Chiwaya is expected to be in contention for selection when Bullets begin their 2025 campaign this weekend.
