Police in Mchinji Arrest Five for Fuel Smuggling

Police in Mchinji have arrested five men for allegedly smuggling fuel in drums.
According to Mchinji Police Spokesperson Limbani Mpinganjira, four of the suspects are Malawians while one is a Zambian citizen.
“Three of the suspects were caught with 27 drums of fuel which they were smuggling into Zambia, while the other two were found with 97 litres of fuel, which they were siphoning from their vehicles,” said Mpinganjira.
Police have since seized a total of 990 litres of fuel.
The suspects—Yangitse Harry, James Chibwana, Thomas Nkhoma, Mikison Banda, and John Soko—are expected to appear in court soon.
