
Man Arrested in Lilongwe for Printing Fake Vehicle and Identity Documents

Lingadzi Police Station in Lilongwe is keeping in custody Samuel Phiri, 32, for allegedly being engaged in making and uttering ring false documents relating to cases of theft of motor vehicles and fraud which Russell Golden, 46, was arrested for, a few weeks ago.
Lingadzi Police Station Deputy Public Relations Officer Maria Kumwenda said acting on intelligence the station gathered, detectives nabbed Samuel who was identified to have been printing fake documents such as Motor Vehicle Bluebooks, Certificates of Fitness (COF), Vehicle Title Holders, and Motor vehicle Insurance documents that Russell Golden used in committing various offences.
Further investigations revealed that the suspect was also printing fake birth certificates, Driving licenses and was in possession of a fake police report.
Police have since seized computers and printers used in the commission of the offences.
The suspect (Samuel) is expected to appear in court soon to answer applicable charges.
He hails from Chiuzira Village, Traditional Authority Tsabango in Lilongwe District.
