The Ministry of Homeland Security has said that some people are being tricked by fake job adverts on the internet.
In a statement signed by assistance superintendent Joseph Mtumodzi these adverts are used by human traffickers to send victims to dangerous places like rebel camps in Myanmar.
This warning comes after three Malawians were rescued and brought back home. They had been trafficked to Myanmar through these fake job offers.
The Ministry said the three were among over 9,000 foreigners caught by Myanmar authorities for entering the country illegally and taking part in online scams and fraud.
The government says it is now watching closely where Malawians are traveling, to protect them from being trafficked.
