Two Arrested Over Motorcycle Theft In Balaka

Two people have been arrested by Police in Balaka for allegedly found in possession of a motorcycle suspected to have been stolen.

Public Relations Officer for Balaka Police Station Inspector Gladson M’bumpha has identified the two as James Akimu Umali, 22, and Paul James, 27.

They were arrested on Tuesday afternoon of May 6th, 2025 at Balaka Bus Depot in the district.

“The arrest of the suspects followed a tip by a well-wisher that the two were possessing a motorcycle and we’re offering it for sale,” M’bumpha said.

Currently, investigations are in progress in order to trace the owner of the motorcycle.
