According to a press release signed by MCM Registrar and Chief Executive Officer, Davie Zolowere, these offenses include treating a patient at their house in their bedroom, conducting an intimate procedure without a chaperone, shouting at a patient, snatching and throwing their passport, and negligence, among others.
The medics who have met the MCM’s wrath are Pearson Mlendo, Dr. Jessie Chihana, Dr. Noel Kayange, Chifundo Mpinganjira, George Mphande, the Office of the Director of Health Services, and Henry Mvula.
The council stated that some of the practitioners have been issued warnings, fines, suspensions, and other penalties.
Out of the sixteen cases heard by the council, seven resulted in guilty verdicts, eight in not guilty verdicts, and one case was referred for further action.
