
WOLREC and WUSC Launches Program to Empower Women and Early Childhood Care

As on way of boosting women financial independence and improve quality early child development, the Women’s Legal Resource Centers (WOLREC) in partnership with World University Service of Canada (WUSC) has introduced a project aimed to encourage and support women and children particularly those under the age of three.
Executive Director for WOLREC Maggie Kathewera recommended importance of focusing on early child development as it helps to shape the future of the children. She said that communities mostly overlook at caregivers as a result it affects children’s behavior as well as growth.
The deputy minister of Gender, community development and social welfare, Halima Daud also attended the event as honorable guest.
Support for this project will be offered by Global Affairs Canada and it will take a period of three years.
